Beneath the sleek clipless body, the heavy duty driveline delivers extreme Velineon® brushless horsepower. The larger Talon™ EXT wheels and tyres provide versatility and grip for any terrain, from backyard trails to concrete skate parks. All-New Chassis
The all-new low-CG chassis positions the weight low for aggressive handling. The wheelbase has been lengthened 20mm for the perfect balance of stability and quick response. Brushless Velineon power flows through a larger Revo®-Spec slipper clutch and new extreme heavy-duty driveshafts to ensure performance and strength. 
Self-Righting
The Rustler 4X4 VXL uses Traxxas' patented Self-Righting feature to keep the fun going, even when you get carried away with the wheelies or land that big trick upside down. Simply press a button on the TQi transmitter and, in most circumstances, the Rustler 4X4 VXL will be back on its wheels in just seconds and ready for more action! 
Clipless Body Mounting
Similar to the flagship E-Revo, the Rustler 4X4 VXL uses a clipless body latching system for secure mounting and fast, one-handed removal and installation. The sleek, aerodynamic body features a rugged internal structure and external rollover protection for long life and Traxxas-Tough™
durability.
Modular Chassis
The Rustler 4X4's all-new modular chassis features front and rear bulkheads that remove easily with just a few screws. In less than a minute using a power screwdriver, you'll have full access for easy service and adjustment. 
Velineon 3500 Motor
A sensorless Velineon 3500 kV motor delivers extreme performance with nearly zero maintenance. Ultra high-temperature Neodymium magnets, high-speed bearings, and a precision, 4-pole balanced rotor deliver smooth running and long life. 
VXL-3s ESC
The waterproof Velineon VXL-3s speed control is packed with technology to deliver maximum power. Large heat sink, integrated on/off switch, and three programmable drive profiles top the feature list. Two-stage low voltage detection allows full LiPo compatibility, including powerful 11.1-volt 3S packs! 
Waterproof Receiver Box
The Rustler's innovative waterproof receiver box allows easy access to the receiver. The antenna and servo wires route neatly through a patented watertight seal to protect the receiver from water. No matter what the weather, Rustler 4X4 is ready for action! 
5-Channel Receiver with Failsafe
The TQi 2.4GHz receiver stores up to thirty Traxxas Link™
enabled transmitters in memory. Integrated telemetry ports allow real-time data to transmit from your Traxxas model to the TQi transmitter. In the event of signal loss, the receiver automatically returns the throttle to neutral and holds the last steering position. 
New Talon EXT 2.8" Tyres & Black Chrome Wheels
The Rustler's large 2.8" black chrome wheels provide terrain-conquering ground clearance and a commanding presence. Talon™
EXT tyres have a square-shouldered, aggressive tread design to dig into gravel, dirt, and grass for incredible 4X4 traction and huge roost. 
Ultra Shocks
Oil-filled Ultra Shocks utilize dual X-ring technology for a perfect seal and silky-smooth performance. The large oil capacity and rugged design soaks up big jumps and off-road abuse for smooth driving performance. They are easy to tune with a wide range of available oils, springs, and pistons. 
Single Screw Motor Access
Rustler 4X4's innovative motor mount holds the Velineon 3500 motor securely in place and yet releases instantly with just one screw. Gear-mesh adjustments are fast and easy. 
Digital High-Torque Waterproof Steering Servo
The Rustler 4X4's extreme speed and quick reflexes require a steering servo that's both strong and fast. The included digital high-speed, high-torque servo features ball bearings for precise control and quick reflexes. 
Revo-Spec Oil-Filled Differentials
Rustler 4X4 VXL's heavy-duty front and rear oil-filled differentials utilise steel-gear internals for maximum durability. Silicone gaskets and X-ring seals allow you to tune the amount of locking action by varying the viscosity of the fluid inside the differentials. 
New Front and Rear Bumpers
Tough reinforced bumpers protect the chassis against impacts. The specially designed front bumper provides a high approach angle that allows the Rustler to climb up and over obstacles with ease. The rear bumper mounts a perfectly positioned wheelie bar to help prevent the Rustler 4X4 VXL from back-flipping from its explosive power. 
Heavy-Duty Composite Arms
All-new heavy-duty suspension arms are stronger than ever before. Molded from a tough new composite material, the arms stand up to even the most punishing drivers and resist breakage for non-stop fun behind the wheel. 
Extruded Aluminium Driveshaft
A one-piece extruded aluminium driveshaft is both strong and lightweight. Internal splines fit directly onto the input shafts of the front and rear drive assemblies. All together, this shaft runs straight and true for ultra-smooth driveline operation. 
Progressive Rate Springs
Progressive rate springs are lighter through the initial range of travel to maintain traction and composure over small ruts and bumps. Hit the big jumps and the springs tighten up to prevent bottoming the chassis at the extreme ranges of the suspension travel. 
Extreme Heavy-Duty Driveshafts
Rustler 4X4's extreme heavy-duty driveshafts are modeled after the legendary Slash 4X4, but are beefed up in critical areas for even more outrageous power handling. The larger diameter half shafts offer the same articulation and suspension travel, but are rated for even more tyre-shredding torque. 
Optimum-Geometry Steering with Intergrated Servo Saver
A dual-bellcrank design pivots on rubber-sealed ball bearings for smooth action in the harshest conditions. The integrated cam-type servo saver protects the servo gears from crash impacts without sacrificing steering precision. 
Heavy-Duty 32-Pitch Gears
Designed from the start to handle big brushless horsepower, Rustler's 4X4 driveline uses a rugged spur gear with large 0.8 module/32-pitch teeth for reliability no matter how much power you pour on. 
Heavy-Duty 4mm Turnbuckles
Rustler 4X4 uses the same heavy-duty steel 4mm turnbuckles developed for the Slash 4X4. Broad flat sections make toe and camber adjustments easy with the included wrench. The fully captured rod ends take a beating and won't pop apart during rigorous off-road pounding. 
New Prographix Body
Rustler's aggressive ProGraphix™
body comes trimmed and pre-painted with the decals already applied. Tough internal reinforcements maintain the body's integrity while roof skids provide rollover protection to keep the body looking fresh. 
Functional Rear Wing
The functional rear wing reduces drag while still providing valuable downforce for high speed stability. The wing mounts directly to the internal body reinforcements for lasting durability. 
Secure Body Latch
Rustler's clipless ProGraphix™
latch unlocks instantly with the quick swipe of a thumb and locks again with a noticeable detent to let you know it's securely fastened. 
Improved Battery Hold-Down
The Rustler's innovative battery hold down accommodates traditional flat battery packs as well as "hump" packs. A beefed up latch provides solid locking action to keep batteries secure no matter how wild the action gets. 
Rubber-Sealed Ball Bearings
Maximizing speed requires as little friction as possible. Rustler 4X4 rides on precision rubber-sealed bearings for super low-friction performance and maximum protection in dusty environments. They are used throughout the truck and are virtually maintenance free. 
Wheelie Bar
A wheelie bar is an absolute necessity on a vehicle with the power and speed potential of the Rustler 4X4 VXL. The reinforced wheelie bar provides additional impact resistance for the bumper and also protects the wing during 
Fixed Gear Adapter
The Rustler's fixed gear adapters take the guesswork out of setting your gear mesh with five preset gearing positions. Insert the motor screw through the desired gearing position for a perfect gear mesh every time. The fixed positioning also keeps the gear mesh tight, even after the harshest landings.
